The National Industrial Court of Nigeria (NICN) Abuja, has restrained the Nigerian Labour Congress, (NLC), Trade Union Congress, (TUC) and their affiliates from embarking on a strike over the removal of fuel subsidy.
The labour unions had planned to commence the industrial action on Wednesday.
Justice O.Y. Anuwe on Monday granted an order ofwss interim injunction in a motion ex-parte filed by the federal government against the respondents.
The Federal Government and the Honourable Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice are the Plaintiff in the suit.
The NLC, TUC, and their affiliates are the defendants
The court granted the prayers on the motion exparte filed by government counsels.
They had prayed the court to stop the strike of the organized labour from going ahead as planned.
The court ordered the federal government to put the labour unions on notice in respect of the substantive suit.
The judge ordered that the defendant/ Respondents be immediately served with the originating processes in the suit, the Motion on Notice, and the order of the court.
Justice Anuwe adjourned hearing of the Motion on Notice for June 19, 2023.
