The Independent National Electoral Commission on Sunday declared the Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, winner of the governorship poll that took place in the state on Saturday.

Prince Abiodun emerged winner  despite that a former governor of the state was not in his support.

 Abiodun shamed the former governor by poling  276,298 votes, his closest rival, Ladi Adebutu, scored 262,383 votes, while candidate of the African Democratic Congress, Biyi Otegbeye, scored a total of 94,754 votes.

The margin between Abiodun and Adebutu is 13,915.

The announcement was made by the Chief Returning Officer, Prof Kayode Adebowale.
